How Professional Movers.com Relocates a Flat Panel TV Using Our Exclusive Mobile Flat Panel TV Case
STEP 1: First, Professional Movers.com will utilize 2 movers at all times when handling your flat panel TV. Although flat panel TVs are lighter than a standard old style TV, it is best to work in pairs to prevent the screen from rubbing against any type of surface when moving or packing. If your flat panel TV is mounted on your wall, our movers will disconnect the TV from the power source and begin to label and disconnect your input and output cables. Once all of the cables are disconnected, our movers will begin to dismount the flat panel TV from the wall bracket.
STEP 2: With the TV removed from the wall bracket it is now time to place the TV in an upright position on its stand. If you do not have a stand for your TV, our movers will hold the TV in an upright position and request assistance from a 3rd mover to begin wrapping the TV in protective material. The TV will be wrapped in thin foam sheets. To secure the foam sheets, our movers will place tape at the required locations.
STEP 3: Our movers will now open the Mobile Flat Panel TV Case. The two movers will gently place the TV into the designated compartment. The TV will be secured into position using Styrofoam inserts to lock the TV into place. A thin piece of cardboard will be placed on the front of the TV over the screen and secured in place with tape or Styrofoam. Additional TV accessory equipment such as cables and speakers will be placed inside the Mobile Flat Panel TV Case. The movers will now close the case by twisting the hinged locks.
STEP 4: Your TV is now safely packaged and ready for transport. Our movers will roll the Mobile Flat Panel TV Case to the front doorway and hand carry the case to the level ground where it will be rolled onto the truck and secured into place using ratchet straps. When moving your TV, our movers will always keep your TV in the upright position. In addition, our movers will not place any pressure on the front of the screen.
Please note, once we arrive at your new location, our movers will remove your TV from the case and place it in your desired location. If you would like, our movers can remount the TV; however this service is additional and must be coordinated with your moving consultant prior to your move.
We Can Also Pack Your TV in Its Original Packaging to Save You Money
To save you money, our movers can package your flat panel TV into your original packaging. The original box must contain all of the original packaging including the custom Styrofoam blocks that were originally created to support and protect the TV. If you would like us to utilize your original packaging please let your Certified Senior Moving Consultant know that you still have the packaging.
On Long Distance Moves Your TV will be Placed in a Custom Wooden Crate
For long distance moves where pricing is based on weight, Professional Movers.com recommends that all Flat Panel TVs be placed inside a custom built wooden crate. Since our custom built wooden crates are lighter than our Mobile Flat Panel TV Case, a custom wooden crate is a more cost effective solution. The wooden crate will be constructed on site to the exact dimensions of your TV and can be either slat/cardboard or solid wood. Any additional parts to the TV will be wrapped and labeled. At your request, an anti-tip/shock indicator may be placed on your crate to ensure that your TV is kept in the upright position from the origin to the destination address. At your destination, Professional Movers.com can uncrate your TV at your request.
Professional Movers.com Crating Policy
Professional Movers.com uses the following information to determine crating charges. Please note, there is a minimum $100.00 charge for custom crating
- If it is a flat crate add 4″ to the length and width and make the flat dimension 6″ (Example: The glass top is 32x32x1/4. The dimensions for pricing would be 36x36x6. Multiply these numbers then divide by 1728. This will give you the cubic feet. You must then round up to the nearest whole number.)
- If it is a box crate add 4″ to each dimension and then follow as usual.
- When estimating charges, please be sure to understand that quotes are only as accurate as the dimensions we are given. When the job is completed the charges will be based on the actual piece size figured with the formula above.
