How Do You Estimate the Cost for An Internal Move?
The first thing we are going to do is connect you with a Moving Consultant who will coordinate a quick virtual video call that will allow our Moving Consultant the opportunity to see everything you would like moved. Seeing everything through a quick video call, is going to let our Moving Consultant determine if any items need to be disassembled, wrapped, or require any special preparations before being moved. We make the call simple, painless, and quick. Plan for like five to ten minutes. You show us all of your furniture and the space where you would like it moved and we will gameplan how many movers you need and how long it might take to complete.
This will also allow you the opportunity to ask any questions regarding the move process or project. Our Moving Consultant will follow-up with a traditional phone call.
Our Moving Consultant will quickly prepare your moving estimate and email or text it to you for your review. The estimate will contain all the important information such as the list of items to be moved and any notes that are important to the success of the project that you shared with the Moving Consultant during the video call. Of course, the estimate will contain the price to perform the move. Pending your review, you can digitally sign the estimate to approve and our Moving Consultant will reach back to you to share what available days and times our Scheduling Team has available to book your move.
When Are Internal Moves Scheduled?
Often smaller sized projects of this nature are typically scheduled for the beginning of the day, middle of the day, or end of the day. We do this to help reduce costs for our customers by combining smaller projects with other small projects. You will receive a 4-hour arrival window. Your 4-hour arrival window might be between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm or between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
In special circumstances, accommodations can be made for moving service before 8:00 am or after 4:00 pm. On the day of your service, your project will be assigned a Team Leader and he will text you when he is in route to your house. If you need additional preparation time, you are able to call or text our office anytime at 248-926-9999 and receive multiple updates.
What Happens on Move Day for an Internal Move?
When the Team Leader arrives at your house, he will have all the details of your project and will arrive prepared with the right moving equipment. Rest assured, all of our movers are background checked and are actual company employees of Professional Movers.com. The team will introduce themselves and perform a walkthrough to review everything and make sure nothing has changed. Before they start, they will ask to collect a signature to verify the valuation option you would like as well as the starting signature.
From here, you can sit back and relax because our move team is highly trained and will deliver on the professional experience that we promised. Once completed, the Team Leader will ask you if you would like anything else rearranged or adjusted and pending your satisfaction, they will collect an ending signature and collect payment. How Much Does Internal Moving Cost?
We typically charge by the hour for internal moving services. The hourly rate is determined by the number of movers and vehicles needed to get them to your house. During peak season (May thru September) small moves are charged a minimum of four hours. This includes three hours of moving labor time and one hour transportation time charge. The transportation charge covers the time to and from our warehouse.
During non-peak season (October thru April) small moves are charged a minimum of three hours. This includes 2 hours of moving labor time and one hour transportation time charge. In the event that moving requires more time than the minimum time, the final bill would reflect the actual time plus a transportation time charge. In the event the move is completed in less time than the minimum, the minimum 3 or 4-hour charge would apply.
How Can I Save Money on An Internal Move?
Piggybacking is the best way to reduce costs on an internal move. What is piggybacking? Piggybacking is where Professional Movers.com will combine your internal move with another move that is happening on the same day in your neighborhood or very close. For example, let’s say you live in the Bellagio neighborhood in Novi, MI near Beck Road and Nine Mile Road. Our Scheduling team is going to search out a day and time on our calendar where we are servicing another move within a few miles and look to perform your move on the same day either before or after the other move. To be eligible for the piggybacking scenario, customers are required to be flexible with your move date and start time. Meaning your determined move date and time would be scheduled for when the timing is best for Professional Movers.com. As a benefit for you being flexible, Professional Movers.com will be able to reduce your overall charges and save you money on your internal moving project.
Keep in mind, piggybacking your move is never required, it’s done as an optional way to help save our customers money. You are ALWAYS free to schedule your move through the traditional method, where you pick the day and time that you would like to schedule services.
