What We’re Looking For?
Team Leader (Must be at least 21)
Job Description:
Team Leaders work on both residential and commercial move projects. Team Leaders set the tone for the quality, pride, and professionalism of work on every move. Each is a fundamental key player to accountability on each job. They drive the truck, they run the paperwork, efficiently perform and delegate moving tasks, and maintain communication between the customer, team members, and our Moving Consultants. They are the on-site managers making sure the move plan set forth by the Moving Consultant is carried out and all the promises made to customer are completed. Team Leaders are expected to meet daily with Moving Consultant to comprehend the scope of each move prior to arrival at customer’s house or office. Once on-site, Team Leaders are expected to introduce team to customer and perform walkthrough of home or office to identify if there are any requested changes from the original move plan. If so, any differences in original move estimate and customers requests should be communicated with Customer and Moving Consultant. Team Leader should exude calmness under pressure and ability to spot potential problems in advance then make adjustments during move to improve outcome for customer. Experience, common sense, customer service, and problem solving are key characteristics of a successful team leader. No matter how big or small the move is, the team leader knows how to best approach any situation while making other team member’s feel appreciated by demonstrating leadership. Team Leader should leave each customer with such a great move experience that the customer is willing to recommend Professional Movers to friends, family, co-workers, and their social network.
Responsibilities:

- Safely drive and park 16’ and 26’ Moving Trucks
- Perform daily preparation and loading of needed moving equipment prior to departing warehouse
- Running residential and commercial relocation projects from 2 to 10 mover teams
- Directing and working with move teams to successfully complete move jobs
- Ensure that protective materials are being used on door, floor and door jambs
- Providing Training to Moving Apprentices and Movers on proper and professional techniques
- Knowledge of how to pack and unpack glassware, other household items, fragile items, and office files
- Knowledge of selecting proper boxes and packing materials needed for each item.
- Knowledge of moving Baby Grand Pianos, pool tables, hot tubs, safes, computers, flat screen TVs, and Glass
- Knowledge of how to inventory a shipment along with the recording of the condition of items when needed
- Knowledge of how to load, pad, and secure household and office furniture inside moving trucks
- Ability to lift heavy furniture using intelligent and safe lifting techniques and/or the use of hump strap, appliance dolly, safe movers, four-wheelers, suction cups, sliders, etc.
- Collection of signatures on paperwork as well as receiving and handling of money for each move job from the customer
- Perform disassembly and reassembly of furniture
- Keeping trucks and equipment organized
- Maintaining and returning assigned inventory of moving equipment from their truck
- Maintaining and submitting daily timesheet with accurate records of date, in/out times, and locations
- Report any move related damages immediately to Moving Consultant
- Report any driving related incidents immediately to Operations Manager
Requirements:

Skilled Mover (Must be at least 18)
Job Description:
Our Skilled Movers work alongside Team Leaders, other Skilled Movers, and Moving Apprentices on residential and commercial packing and moving projects. Skilled Movers report directly to a Team Leader on every job to offer the best possible service for our customers. Team leaders will tend to rely more heavily on Skilled Movers by entrusting them with specific roles needed to complete each move. Skilled Movers are highly motivated and pick up on what needs to get done on each job. The most successful Skilled Movers work with relentless positive energy, have fun while working, and maintain a professional attitude and friendly demeanor with the customer and move team. Skilled Movers should consistently be challenging themselves to take on additional responsibility at the direction of the Team Leader. In addition, Skilled Movers should assist in training Moving Apprentices in proper moving techniques and supportive, positive encouragement. Skilled movers are not expected to drive box trucks or handle move job paperwork .

Moving Apprentice (Must be at least 18)
Job Description:
Moving Apprentices do not require prior moving experience, just incredibly positive attitude, a willingness to learn the Professional Movers way, and pride in quality work. The position can be a fun and rewarding change of pace for someone, looking to try something new, make some money, and get in great shape. Somedays you may be moving a family to a new house and the next day you might find yourself working in Downtown Detroit on a big office move. Moving Apprentices report directly to a Team Leader who will help develop their moving abilities and designate tasks for them to complete throughout a move. Moving Apprentices often start on basics like moving boxes and work their way up to moving more fragile and heavy items. The Moving Apprentice position is exciting and important part of the successful move equation because the tasks assigned are often the ones that are most noticed by the customer. Things like stretch-wrapping a couch and carrying it out to a truck, or placing protective materials on a floor before moving are often seen as heroic and stress reducing for a customer. Most Moving Apprentices advance quickly up the ranks as they build their knowledge of moving skills and receive positive feedback from customers and Team Leaders.

Installer/Mover (Must be at least 18)
Job Description:
Are you handy with tools? Are you good with understanding floor plans and following assembly instructions? Like to take apart and build things? Are you the family member or friend hat is called when someone buys something from IKEA and they need it built? Our Installers / Movers are responsible for the disconnection and connection of system furniture and household furniture on Professional Movers.com jobsites. They are the brains that build the furniture that make the spaces we move into incredibly functional. They are expected to work directly with the Team Leaders and Moving Consultants to comprehend the scope of each install, efficiently perform delegated installation tasks, and maintain communication between the customer, Team Leader, and Moving Consultant. Installers also often assist in performing moving duties prior to and after performing installation work. Desks, cubicles, bookcases, warehouse shelving, file shelving, overhead wall shelving, and pictures are just some of the types of installation requests our Installers receive each day. Experience, problem solving, identifying the right tool, hardware, and application for each job are key characteristics of our successful Installer s. No matter how big or small the installation is, our Installers knows how to best approach any situation and be efficient and meet the project deadlines.

CDL A Freight Driver (Must be at least 21)
Job Description:
CDL A Freight Drivers are responsible for transporting different types of goods to customer locations throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. They cover a local geographic area and return home each night. CDL A Freight Drivers typically operate a wide variety of vehicles, buts most commonly drive our tractor-trailer combinations including 35, 48, and 53 foot van and flatbed trailers. Some of the wide variety of deliveries include medical devices, household goods, construction materials, systems furniture, office furniture, IT & Technology, you will be responsible for driving on a planned route to ensure deliveries are made on time. You will also assist in the loading and unloading process of goods.
Responsibilities:

- Operate tractor-trailer combination, including van trailers, flatbed trailers, and litigate trailers
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of equipment and vehicles
- Hook/unhook trailers and work landing gear
- Maintain accurate daily logs an verify and complete required documentation and reports
- Maintain and submit daily timesheet with accurate records of date, in/out times, and locations
- Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack and hand truck, four wheelers, panel carts
- Knowledge of securing freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies, including but not limited to: pallets, ratchet straps, hook straps, chins, binders, load bars, and rope
- Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary
- Collect cash or checks for freight charges, as required, and maintain required documentation
- Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures
- Proven ability to follow Dispatch, Team Leader, and Moving Consultant directions and instructions precisely
- Communicate with Dispatch (e.g. delays, arrivals, equipment problems), and required
- Work well with others and communicate with customers to determine pick-up or delivery needs and solicit additional business
- Knowledge of perform chaining of loads and tarping of flatbed loads.
- May be required to perform job duties of a Skilled Mover, Moving Apprentice, or Installer when operationally necessary
- Assist in cleaning and organizing warehouse and trucks when requested
- Secure and transport freight shipments in a safe and responsible manner
Requirements:
- Pass a background check
- Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Must possess one (1) year experience
- Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards
- Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier (FMC) regulations
